Yu-Gi-Oh! Monster Capsule: Breed and Battle is a 1998 PS1 strategy game from Konami based on Kazuki Takahashi's original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, released before the card game anime had fully taken over the franchise's identity. Rather than card battles, it uses a monster breeding and arena battle system closer to the Monster Capsule game featured in the original manga. It is a fascinating artifact of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise at its earliest gaming stage, before the trading card game format became the global standard. Never released outside Japan.
