Violence Killer: Turok New Generation is one of the most fascinating Japan-exclusive curiosities in the N64 library. It is the Japanese localization of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter — but Acclaim's Japanese publishing partner so thoroughly reworked the branding that it became an entirely different product on the surface. The Turok name and Native American protagonist were replaced with an original Japanese character, the title was changed entirely, and the packaging bears no resemblance to the Western release. Underneath the reskin the game is essentially Turok's N64 debut, a landmark first-person shooter that showcased the console's 3D capabilities at launch.
