SimCity on Super Famicom is Nintendo's own port of the Maxis city-builder, developed in-house and enhanced with features not in the original PC release — most notably Dr. Wright, a helpful advisor character who guides the player through city development decisions. Dr. Wright was later included as an assist trophy in Super Smash Bros., cementing him in Nintendo history. It's a significant piece of SFC publishing history: Nintendo choosing to develop and release a western PC simulation title for Japanese audiences and adding their own character to it.
