Perfect Dark is Rare's 2000 spiritual successor to GoldenEye 007 and one of the most technically accomplished games ever released on the N64. Its campaign follows secret agent Joanna Dark through a conspiracy spanning government agencies and alien factions, and its multiplayer mode expanded on GoldenEye's template with deeper customization, more modes, and AI-controlled bots that could fill out matches solo. The game pushed the N64 hardware to its absolute limits and required the Expansion Pak to run the full campaign. The Japanese version is functionally equivalent to the Western release. A landmark N64 title in any region.
