Kamaitachi no Yoru (かまいたちの夜) PlayStation 1 | Complete in Box | Japanese Import NTSC-J | Japan Exclusive | Used

Kamaitachi no Yoru is one of the greatest visual novels ever made and a landmark in Japanese game design. Developed by Chunsoft and written by Kotaro Uchikoshi — who would later create the Zero Escape series — it was released on PS1 in 1998 as the spiritual successor to Otogirisou, taking the sound novel format Chunsoft pioneered and elevating it into a full thriller narrative. Set in a snowbound mountain lodge during a blizzard, it follows two college students caught in a murder mystery with multiple branching paths and endings. Its silhouette art style, atmospheric sound design, and tightly constructed plot made it a critical phenomenon in Japan. It was eventually released in the West as Banshee's Last Cry on mobile, but the original PS1 version remains the definitive experience and was never officially localized in this form.
