Ganbare Goemon: Neo Momoyama Bakufu no Odori is Konami's 1997 3D platformer for N64 and the series' leap into three dimensions. The Goemon franchise — known in the West as Mystical Ninja — is one of Konami's most beloved Japanese properties, following a cast of eccentric characters inspired by Japanese folklore and Edo-period culture through action platformers packed with humor and cultural references. The N64 entry featured giant robot battles, traditional Japanese settings rendered in 3D, and the irreverent comedy that defined the series. It never received a Western release.
