Custom Robo V2 is the second entry in Noise's Custom Robo series for N64, released in 1999. Players assemble miniature combat robots from interchangeable parts — body, gun, bomb, pod, and legs — and battle them in holographic arenas in real-time 3D action. The depth of the customization system, with hundreds of parts producing wildly different combat styles, gave the game a staying power well beyond its modest presentation. The series eventually reached Western audiences with Custom Robo on GameCube, but the N64 originals remained Japan exclusives. V2 expanded the first game's roster of parts and refined the battle mechanics significantly.
